BROWN COUNTY
Known as "Beautiful" Brown County for its spectacular fall foliage, this famous little tourist, artist, recreation and retirement retreat draws roughly three million visitors a year. A recent article in the Real Estate section of the New York Times descibes Life in Brown County. It has long been a mecca to aspiring as well as renowned artists such as T. C. Steele, Adolf Schultz, V. J. Cariani, and many others. Brown County is home to several major art galleries and dozens of private studios. Nearby Bloomington, home of Indiana University, provides a wide variety of musical, theater, and other cultural opportunities.
